Avant Mining is Arkansas's premier quartz crystal mining company. Our public quartz crystal dig is located at the Ocus Stanley Claim on historic Fisher Mountain. The Ocus Stanley Claim has been in operation since 1946 and is the oldest public dig in the state of Arkansas. In addition to our public dig, we offer private pocket dig excursions, an exclusive experience where you have the opportunity to dig for high quality specimens straight from a natural vein. Before heading up to the dig site, be sure to check in at the rock shop where we serve locally roasted coffee at our full service espresso bar. At our free museum, the public can enjoy a variety of ancient artifacts and specimens from around the world and an extensive collection of minerals that can be found locally.

We bought permits at the rock shop down the road. They have tools to dig if you didn't bring any to use. They were super helpful and informative about where and how to dig. The rocks and crystals...
