Coconino National Forest

The Coconino National Forest is one of six national forests in Arizona. Located in Flagstaff, the forest has landscapes ranging from the famous Red Rocks of Sedona to Ponderosa pine forests to the alpine tundra. The forest offers mountains and canyons, as well as trout fishing in forest lakes, creeks and streams. The San Francisco Peaks includes Humphreys Peak, the highest in the state, and the Fairfield Snow Bowl winter sports area. Visitors can also go horseback riding through the pine-covered plateau, which is cut by deep canyons and bordered on the south by the spectacular Mogollon Rim, a 1,000-foot cliff running for miles across central Arizona.
