Erik completed undergraduate education at Arizona State University, then moved their family to Guadalajara, Mexico to attend Autonoma de Guadalajara for medical school. After four years, he continued his training at New York Medical College. Finally, they were able to move their family back to Arizona to complete his residency at Maricopa County hospital.
