Seward Chamber of Commerce and Conference & Visitors Bureau is one of the oldest and most scenic communities in Alaska. Based in Seward, Alaska, the organization offers an array of activities, such as sport fishing, sailing, hiking, kayaking, flight seeing, summer dog sled rides, glacier and wildlife cruises, to name a few. In addition, the winter wonderland is a provider of cross-country skiing and snow machine adventures. The organization also offers annual events, including The polar bear jump, Whale Migration, Military Appreciation "Week", Halibut Tournament and Seward Silver Salmon Derby.

Seward High is an educational institute that serves more than 185 students in grades 9 through 12. The school provides instruction in math, reading, science, art, Spanish and social studies, as well as manages a library and site council. It operates a parent-teacher-student association that works for student welfare. Seward High also publishes a newsletter, Seahawk News, which features information related to upcoming events. The school provides special education programs and guidance counseling, health care and food solutions. In addition, it encourages students to take part in a selection of sports activities, such as basketball and skiing. Seward High is managed by the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.

The Public Works department, governed by the City of Seward in Alaska, is responsible for the maintenance and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the city. It operates street, shop, water, sewer, and snow and ice divisions. The department also administers a community center and municipal buildings. The Public Works department maintains more than 30 miles of paved and unpaved roads. It operates a library and fire hall. The department is also responsible for the maintenance of over 25 miles of water distribution main lines. The City of Seward operates administration, community development, electrical, finance, fire, parking and police departments. It also administers building and engineering and parks and recreation departments.
