The Water Works Sewer Board of the Town of Fort Deposit, Alabama has been providing water and sewer services to the community for over 60 years. With a customer base of approximately 700 water customers and 500 sewer customers, the board ensures compliance with all drinking water standards and conducts regular testing to meet EPA and ADEM requirements.

In addition to supplying water, the board operates a Wastewater Treatment Plant that has been in service since 1970. The plant underwent upgrades to meet stricter effluent discharge limits, incorporating a partial-mix aerated lagoon, constructed wetlands treatment ponds, and a post aeration pond. With a total of 10 pumping stations, the system efficiently filters sewage for treatment. The board has also implemented electronic read systems for accurate water usage monitoring and a satellite-based Telemetry system to promptly address any well-related issues.
