Huntsville Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is administered by the city of Huntsville in Alabama. Its maintenance division offers water management services to prevent floods, erosions and other property damages. It also offers street maintenance programs. Additionally, it provides various secondary services, such as pothole patching, base failure repair, crack sealing, gutter repair, hydro-seeding, creek dredging and ditch maintenance. The department operates a sanitation unit that offers garbage collection services to more than 50,000 residential and commercial solid waste customers. It also provides trash collection, street sweeping and recycling services. The Public Works Department maintains salt spreaders, sand spreaders, snow plows, motor graders, and loaders for ice and snow removal activities.
