Birmingham Police Dept-East Precinct

The Birmingham Police Department provides law enforcement services, promotes public safety and protects the rights and property of residents in Birmingham, Ala. The tactical division consists of the motor scouts, highway patrol, mounted police, the K-9 unit and the bomb unit. The detective division is comprised of the auto theft, burglary, business services, family services, and homicide and robbery units. The vice and narcotics unit includes both undercover and plainclothes officers. The youth services department oversees the drug abuse resistance and training program, the gang resistance education and training program and the police athletic team programs. In addition, the department operates a fully staffed training and education facility and firing range.
