Southern Progress Corporation began with The Progressive Farmer magazine in 1886. The company is one of the largest lifestyle publishers in the country. It publications include Southern Living, Cooking Light, Health, Coastal Living, Southern Accents, Cottage Living, The Progressive Farmer and Sunset magazines, as well as books through Oxmoor House, Leisure Arts and Sunset Books. The company also operates a party-plan division, Southern Living At HOME. Southern Progress Corporation is a subsidiary of Time and Time Warner. It has headquarters in Birmingham, Ala., and operations throughout the United States. Its magazines have a combined readership of nearly 50 million.
