Brasserie Hansken

SINCE 1997 Brasserie Hansken was founded by Arne Sunde and Yngvar Nilsen in 1997. The idea was to create a timeless reststaurant in Oslo center with international cuisine with high end produce and a high level of service, but at the same time create a casual feeling for the guest. A historic place was an ultimatum for the location of the restaurant, together with an outdoor terrace which had sun during the day and shade towards the evening. This made the location at Christiania torv perfect. Both Arne and Yngvar have culinary backgrounds and a long and impressive record, Yngvar with Olympic silver with the culinary team in Berlin 1996 and Arne as a restaurateur at Det Gamleraadhus and Engelbrekt Cafèe. Hansken was run without any changes in ownership for over 20 years. In 2017 Akershusgruppen took over the restaurant as we know it today, and started with a facelift of the diningroom in january 2018, with the saying "lets prepeare her for another 20 years".
