Streekmuseum Baron van Brakell
The Streekmuseum Baron van Brakell, located on the Den Eng estate in Ommeren, aims to inform visitors about the history of the Betuwe region through three main themes: living and working in the Betuwe, regional history, and farmers' wagons from the river area. The museum features an extensive collection spread across three floors, with the ground floor dedicated to a fully equipped market square that evokes the 1950s, complete with shops, a kitchen, and a classroom.
Additionally, the museum showcases various archaeological finds from the area, particularly emphasizing its proximity to the northern boundary of the former Roman Empire, known as the Limes. Noteworthy exhibits include a Roman sword discovered during the museum's construction, along with several farmers' wagons and the tools of a wagon maker displayed in the cellar.
