De Vioolkist Theater
Theater de Vioolkist ( the Violinbox )was built in 1938 as the very first TV studio in the Netherlands. As the Studio was delivered to the owner a few days later WW2 broke out. The Studio was used until 1952. In 1999 the AVRO broadcasting Company left the building empty. In 2021 we took the vintage Studio and rebuild it in its glory. Today it is being used as A TV studio and Theatre. The name Violinbox was originally the nickname by its special shape.
