His father ran a car repairs garage in Carrigrohane for over 40 years and John grew up fixing cars and working on engines which proved instrumental in his decision to further his career and to continue his interest in cars. John enrolled in a 4 year mechanical apprenticeship with a local dealership and gained invaluable experience and knowledge of the motor industry.
