Award-winning walled Victorian garden in the heart of Whickham near Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Free to use, opening times vary according to the season. The modern cafe offers a warm and dry indoor space so people can enjoy the garden year-round. Large windows allow plenty of light into the cafe and also allow visitors to view the garden while relaxing with a drink and bite to eat. A variety of savoury rolls and cakes are on offer - supplied by The Home Bakery of Burnopfield. Main facilities are wheelchair-accessible. Garden pond and Wendy house in the grounds provide additional year-round interest. Free WiFi cafe and garden-wide. Garden and cafe can be hired for events. Please check current opening times for garden and cafe. We're always looking for volunteers to help out in the garden, in the cafe or in admin capacity.
