The Allendale Bunkhouse

we would be delighted to welcome you in the Allendale Bunkhouse, which is located 12 miles from Hexham in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the North Pennies in Northumberland. Our bunkhouse now sleeps up to 26 guests (however, only 24 if double beds are used for one guest), I have stated below the capacity for each bedroom, all beds for your guests come with bedding and linen and are made up for your arrival, however, we do not provide towels as standard, though you can request those for an additional fee. First floor: 12 Room 1 Sleeps up to 2 with ensuite (double bed) Room 2 Sleeps up to 4 with shower and sink only (2 sets of bunk beds) Room 3 Sleeps 1 (1 single bed) Room 4 Sleeps up to 5 (3 single and 1 set of bunkbeds) There are three bathrooms located on the first floor with a shower, toilet and wash basin, for those rooms without ensuite facilities. Second floor: 14 Room 5 Sleeps 2 with ensuite (1 double bed) Room 6 sleeps up to 4 with ensuite (1 zip & link bed and 1x bunkbed in the offset room) Room 7 Sleeps up to 4 with ensuite (2 single beds and 1x bunkbed in the offset room) - space for travel cot Room 8 Sleeps up to 4 with ensuite (1 bunk bed and 2 single beds) Downstairs there is a large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. The dining area will seat you all comfortably, there is large sofas to sit, chat and socialise. The kitchen is fully equipped along with a fabulous new electric range cooker, hob, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, full height fridge freezer and a full sized dishwasher. There is a large drinks fridge to keep those prosecco bottles chilled, too. The bunkhouse has a private, small, landscaped garden where you can sit out and watch the stars or enjoy the evening sun, the garden consists of a patio with benches and tables, steps up onto a lawned area with covered bench seating. There is a gate through to the larger Manor garden, which can be used in conjunction with Manor guests, once all restrictions on household mixing are lifted. It is primarily the Manor garden, but in the past, all our guests have shared this space happily (There are two bonfire and seating areas, a sunset gin deck and children's play areas.) Our brand new development at the Bunkhouse: We have been busy converting the Bunkhouse attic into a games and movie room with a huge TV, lots of comfy sofas, board games, pool table and reading chairs. A great space for relaxing away from the downstairs social space. Pictures are now available on request. The Bunkhouse is based in the centre of Allendale town with 2 pubs on the door step, a co-op, an art gallery & café. The pubs are all country pubs with hearty menus, roaring fires and are family & dog friendly. If you are planning a meal in one of the pubs, please book in advance. The pubs are: The stylish Golden Lion with its beautiful upstairs restaurant and the traditional Kings Head. The pubs have outdoor seating, too so that you can enjoy a pint in the sunshine after a long walk through the stunning countryside.
