Making local matter more ADVERTISING FEATURE OZZY knows a good café when he sees one. He's spent years in the business and currently owns Stewart's Café in Margate Road,Ramsgate. Before he took over Stewart's in 2011 January, Ozzy ran the Beano Café in Cliftonville for eight years before a fire forced it to close in 2009. Ozzy has spent the last year using his skills in the catering trade to give Stewart's Café a bit of a face-lift. Before he took over, the café mainly catered for the breakfast trade and closed at 2pm each day. Ozzy immediately extended that to 4pm and has branched out to offer a range of tasty lunches and wholesome dinners, on top of the extensive breakfast menu. The café now opens from 7am - 4pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 8am - 4pm on Sundays. The café had been around for at least 35 years when Ozzy took over. He chose to keep the name so it didn't lose its identity, but Ozzy is now reaching out to a broader range of clientele. He is attracting more families into the café, and he has installed a swing and trampoline into the garden so there's something to keep the kids amused while the parents enjoy a leisurely coffee or lunch. There's seating inside the café, at the front and in the garden, meaning customers can enjoy their food whatever the weather. "Everyone is welcome in the café," Ozzy said. "We have lots of builders in the mornings who come in for their breakfast, and we are open for other workers, families and groups too. We are more than just a breakfast-style café - We have lovely lunches,dinners and snacks for any time of the day. "We love our working customers but we are open all weekend too, so we are an ideal place for families, friends and couples who want to pop out for a nice lunch on Saturday or Sunday." Stewart's Café has an extensive menu, including breakfasts, take-away sandwiches,Baguttes,omelettes, jacket potatoes, roast dinners,home-made shepherd's pie, steak pies, bangers and mash, chicken curry, chilli con carne, liver dinner and salads. we also serve a range of delicious desserts. Everything is reasonably priced and there are OAP and children's meals available too. The café is close West Cross shopping centre and ramsgate town so it's the perfect place for weary shoppers to pop in to re-fuel. There's parking, Wi-Fi and a smoking shelter at the back.
