Founded by Elkington and Co., the Grade II listed Peace Memorial Fountain, designed by architect Francis Butler and sculptor John Birnie Philip, was erected in 1873 and features intricate marble and bronze elements. The fountain originally included a grand stone canopy and figures representing Temperance, Hope, Faith, and Charity, although the structure has since been dismantled due to disrepair.
