Christ Church is a vibrant evangelical church for the twenty-first century, even though it was opened in the nineteenth. It's built in Kentish ragstone, and originally had a spire. When it was enlarged in 1880 the spire was removed and the present tower was built. There is some fine stained glass, including a commemoration of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, as well as a magnificent Willis organ that was worked on by Father Willis himself. A church hall was built alongside in 1907 and was used as a hospital in the First World War. Renovations, re-ordering and expansion continued, most recently in 2008 with a building to link the church and hall, and in 2012 with a complete reordering of the church itself.
