High Swinside Holiday Cottages sleep from 2+, 5 or 9 and have an idyllic peaceful hillside setting above the Lorton valley (8 miles from Keswick or 6 miles from Cockermouth). From the cottages, the garden, and the hot tubs there are superb panoramic views from Melbreak overlooking Crummock Water through 180 degrees to the distant Scottish Mountains in the north. The walking is wide ranging with 3 beautiful lakeshore paths to choose from, challenging high peaks and everything in between. Whinlatter Forest Park offers extensive mountain biking trails close by, while Lorton's village shop and pub 20-30 minutes walk away or a few minutes by car. The cottages are comfortable and well-equipped with good wifi throughout. They date from 1741 and have plenty of character and original features. In the shared garden there are two hot tubs available, benches for the view, barbeque, a camp fire, hammocks... Well-behaved dogs are welcome and have a special 'Dogs run free' area.
