Welcome to an emblematic place of the Marais Poitevin : this was exactly here, in the 17th century, when the water resource management has been invented. The Marais Poitevin is indeed not only the Green Venice! Visit our exhibition on the dyke and you will understand that in reality there is a variety of landscapes in the Marais Poitevin. Take your time to observe the dyke developping through the seasons, listen to the sound of the Marais, install yourself into "recalou". You will discover the difference between the wet and the dried out Marsh. Then jump into the past : enter into the ancient accommodation of the Dyke’s Master. Discover the habitat, the profession and the everyday life of an essential figure for the water management and the maintenance of the Marsh.
