Chateau De Montmagner offers you the rare chance to stay in an ancient Historical Monument dating from the 12th and 14th century. Stay in one of the three luxurious self contained apartments accessed via the original 14th century turret stair case. choose between two of our luxury suites with your own salon, kitchen, bedroom with King size canape bed and luxury ensuite bathroom or oone of our pen plan rooms with two double beds, ensuite bathroom, kitchen and relaxation area. Breakfast can be added to your stay either delivered to your room or in the dinning room or outside terrace. An evening 4 course meal can be ordered in advance. Perfect for a family or small group the Suites offer a fully equipped kitchen for those wanting to be self-sufficient, a Salon with a double sofa bed, large double bedroom with a canape Victorian style bed and Jack and Jill luxury bathroom which can be accesses via the bedroom or the salon. The open plan rooms have a fully equipped kitchen, ensuite luxury bathroom, relaxation area and two double Victorian style beds. Relax in the grounds and enjoy the piece and tranquility around you, or take a stroll around the eight acre estate and take in the wildlife and beautiful countryside. On the ground floor is ‘The Bistro’ with seating inside and out, where you can enjoy delicious homemade cuisine or just sit and have a coffee or glass of local wine and watch the world go by. There is an abundance of herbs growing in the garden which guests are welcome to use for their cooking and if there are any ingredients you are missing then you can always ask the staff at the Bistro and they will help you with what you need. For those not wanting to make use of the self catering facilities you are welcome to dine in the Bistro or join Lesa & Ted for a home cook meal. Guest access We provide off road parking within our gated courtyard. Other things to note Chateau De Montmagner has been sympathetically renovated after being abandoned for many years. The buildings are made from granite stone and you can see from the huge dressed stonework the age of the property. The original 14th century spiral staircase was built from Oak and the central column is an ancient ships mast. Underneath the tower there is said to be medieval tunnels leading to La Soutteraine church built in the 11th century. The Chateau is steeped in its own history with links to King Louis 13th and the Knights Templar, however it is a perfect base for lovers of historical architecture with over 300 listed historical monuments close by.
