Auberge sur la Montagne

The Auberge sur la Montagne is a small boutique chalet-hotel decorated in a harmonious mix of contemporary and traditional design. Our spacious lounge with its 200 year old wooden beams has comfy sofas, a fully stocked bar and a huge fireplace. It has been styled in colours that reflect the local scenery - slate grey, sky blue and snowy white. Our candle-lit dining room has been decorated in tones of cool grey with contemporary bright accent colours. We have a sun trap south-facing terrace and garden, boules court and eight guest bedrooms sleeping up to twenty-one people. We have a state-of-the-art outdoor hot tub and sauna installed in the garden. A great way to relax after a hard day on the mountain! The “Auberge” is situated in the village of La Thuile and is ideally situated to ski the resorts of the Tarentaise Valley, and is also great base for a cycling/hiking holiday in summer. In winter its perfect position gives you the opportunity to ski Sainte Foy, Tignes, Val d’Isere, Les Arcs and La Rosiere within the week. We offer free transport to Sainte Foy every day and to each of the other resorts during the week. In summer The Auberge sur la Montagne is THE cyclists’ hotel in the Alps – run by cyclists, for cyclists! Some of the best road cycling and mountain biking in the world is directly accessible from the doorstep. We have indoor bike storage, bike cleaning equipment and detailed hand out sheets with on and off road route plans and maps. Our outdoor hot tub has massage jets to get at your lower back, feet and knees – ideal after a day’s ride. Much of the cycling here is, because of the nature of the terrain, physically demanding. At the valley floor, however, there are some lovely, undemanding rides suitable for all. In the winter months the chalet is offered fully catered, with a generous buffet breakfast and apres-ski tea and cake every day, with a delicious 3-course meal with wine and coffee on 6 nights. It can be booked on sole-occupancy or room-by-room basis. In summer rooms are offered on a B&B basis, with an optional 3-course meal available in the evenings.
