Conventer Atrium

We offer a city tour carried out by a guide in the costume and role of a pirate from the late Middle Ages. It’s the year 1395 and Mecklenburg is at war with Queen Margarete of Denmark. The quarrel is mainly about the Swedish crown and the imprisoned Albrecht of Mecklenburg. To start a war of prize against Margarete’s ships the cities of Rostock and Wismar opened their harbours and markets for anybody willing to sail against Denmark. One of these Buccaneers is the graduated Master of Arts Bertram Wigbold from Rostock. He has a lot to report about pirate raids, seafaring, trade and everyday life in his medieval hometown.
