Boundary Trail Railway Company (BTRC) is a locally owned and operated short line railway in south-central Manitoba, established in 2008 by local farmers to preserve critical rail infrastructure and ensure competitive shipping options for producers. Operating 23 miles of the former CP La Riviere Subdivision, BTRC serves various stations including Thornhill, Darlingford, Manitou, and Binney.
Since its inception, BTRC has expanded its operations through a track agreement with Canadian Pacific (CP), allowing it to provide haulage services to smaller CP customers while facilitating continued growth. The railway has successfully moved over 5,594 producer cars and transported over 1.27 million tons, demonstrating its vital role in supporting local agricultural communities.
